A Developed Nation by 2020 at the expense of increase of crime rate and condoning climate change which affects all. 21/03/2007

Malaysia Global Vision is to achieve developed status by 2020 in this uncertain world was raised during question time. The Deputy Minister Joseph Entulu anak Belaun replying for the Prime Minister stated amount other things the main trust is on the economic factors, Investment and related factors.


I stood up and asked why the more important and relevant local matters like the Climatic changes and the increase of Crime rate has not been properly addressed. The number of Crime cases for 1995 was 198,017 and it increased to 225,836 in2006 an increase of 14%. It looks like the Government eagerness to achieve a Developed country by 2020 factors like climatic change and the ever increasing crime rate is been overlooked. The Deputy replied that the Malaysia’s emission of gas and other fuel by factories are very small in amount as compared to China and India. As regards the ever increasing rate he said the Police force is making all efforts to check the increasing crime rate.
